Visit to Brin Jones Bodyshop

"A joint-visit with Gloucestershire was another first. Our first visit to Brin Jones, their first visit by Porsche Club. Non of us knew what to expect, but the team at the bodyshop excelled themselves. The whole facility was opened up for our inspection and a full compliment of staff were on hand to demonstrate equipment and explain the finer points of the modern Porsche approved bodyshop. The investment in technology and the back-up from Porsche and Glaurit (Paint supplier) is truly impressive and provides for an excellent level of workmanship.

Amongst our Regional Members, Brin's quality and finish is much talked about and I can honestly say I have only heard good things of the Bodyshop. If you are unfortunate to need your Porsche repaired or if you just need it tidied, go and see the team in Bristol, your pride and joy cannot be in better hands and the rates are surprisingly reasonable. Whilst we were there, Brin was presented with an award from Porsche's David Lester for the Bodyshop's excellence.

We were shown the many services offered by a modern Porsche Bodyshop. Laser wheel alignment, full body jig, air conditioning refurbishment, computer diagnostics, paint ovens, zymol finishing, panel replacement, body pulling, dent removal...... the list is endless it seems. A demonstration of dent removal showed that minor dings need not end in a full respray. Dents magically disappear at the hands of an expert and, to prove it, many Members had their cars worked upon for free.

Two extremely entertaining and interesting talks were given by David Lester from Porsche Cars and Kevin McDermott from Glasurit. The day was finished off with lunch on the premises.
